Charles Bigelow, former MacArthur Foundation Prize Fellow and recipient of the Frederic W. Goudy Award in Typography from RIT, was professor of digital typography at Stanford University. He was an industrial consultant in Silicon Valley working for some of the leading firms in electronic printing and publishing. With studio partner Kris Holmes, Charles Bigelow co-designed the Lucida font family now integrated with many popular computer systems. Professor Bigelow holds a B.A. in Anthropology from Reed College, an M.F.A. in Film from UCLA, and a certificate of advanced studies in extension from Harvard University.
