Mariela received her BS in Industrial Engineering from the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra in Santiago, Dominican Republic in 2005, a ME in Engineering Management from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 2008, and is doing her MS in Print Media at RIT, with concentrations in digital publishing and communications. As a graduate student in the School of Print Media, she worked in RIT Cary Graphic Arts Press and Melbert B. Cary, Jr. Graphic Arts Collection, and as a research assistant for Professor Franziska Frey. Her research and interests include development and dissemination of new media technologies and information systems, political economy of media systems, and printing technologies and their impact in national and global contexts.
