Why is 'repeatable and predictable color' a competitive benchmark for the fast-moving and evolving package printing industry?

By optimizing, standardizing, and controlling color, converters can streamline print production workflows and enhance color communication from design to print. Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) will showcase a methodology for the package printing industry that has the potential to reduce waste and improve turnaround time and quality—ultimately achieving a more agile process that better services the client's needs.

RIT has developed a methodology for achieving consistent, repeatable color for package printing through an optimized and controlled manufacturing environment. This, in turn, enables predictable color between design and production, while reducing cycle time.

This day-long technical symposium showcasing RIT’s success will identify the essential building blocks to achieving the desired results—material specifications, process optimization, characterization, and control of both spot color and process color image reproduction. Participants will also learn from case studies on the implementation of these concepts using offset, flexography, and gravure printing processes with the use of color measurement tools for process capability, control, and assurance.

Symposium Program

Conference fee: $80
The day-long conference runs from 8:30 a.m to 5:30 p.m., with a dinner reception from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Meals and materials will be provided throughout the day.
