Dana Busch with Niels Winther at drupa
2004 in Germany.
Heidelberg, in conjunction with the Rochester
Institute of Technology (RIT), sponsored a design contest to celebrate
the grand opening of the Heidelberg Web Press Laboratory in April
2003.
Dana Busch, a then-senior in the RIT School
of Print Media's New Media Publishing program and current adjunct
faculty in the School and freelance designer, was the winner
of the contest, in which the contestants designed a publication
detailing
the history of the construction of the press and the collaboration
with Heidelberg. As the winner, her publication was printed on
the new 6-unit Heidelberg Sunday 2000 Heatset Web Offset Press
consigned to RIT by Heidelberg in 2003.
The main prize, though,
was a trip to the ultimate trade show for the printing industry,
drupa 2004. Heidelberg invited
Ms. Busch to visit with the North American team during the trade
show. Mr. Niels Winther, president of Heidelberg USA, congratulated
her on a job well done and thanked her for her participation
and excllent design work.
